National Storytelling Week celebrates tenth anniversary

1 Feb 2010

National Storytelling Week, run by the Society for Storytelling, is celebrating its tenth year of existence. The aim of the week is to highlight the art of storytelling - not just for the young but for all ages.

The week started in 2001, when 200 storytelling events were held around the country.

In 2009, National Storytelling Week reached 16,000 people of various ages with storytelling events and performances in schools, arts centres, libraries, theatres, museums, pubs, book shops, storytelling clubs, retirement homes and prisons across the UK.
