Five new flip-books named for World Book Day 2010

24 Nov 2009

Five stories about dinosaurs, witches, ballerinas and a tale by Roald Dahl Funny Prize-winner Philip Ardagh will be published for World Book Day, which next year is on 4 March. The new flip-books will feature two stories, and cost just £1 each.

Over 13 million schoolchildren will receive a World Book Day £1 Book Token, which are sponsored by National Book Tokens, and can be exchanged for a World Book Day £1 Book or put towards any book or audiobook priced at least £2.99.

For the first time, children will be able to have the books read to them through online initiative Read to a Million Kids, created by Renaissance Learning in conjunction with their Accelerated Reader programme. The website will include footage of the books being read aloud, plus a Q&A session and a quiz.
