New writing competition - Right Words 2009

19 Nov 2009

Closes Friday 18th December 2009

Right Words 2009 is a competition for students from around Britain which challenges them to produce a piece of writing inspired by the issue of Child Soldiers.

Right Words are offering curriculum-based lesson plans and background information on Child Soldiers to allow the competition to be used in a variety of ways both in and out of the classroom. In addition, the London Network will also be offering a limited number of workshops to eligible school classes to support their work for the competition.

A distinguished panel of judges will consider the submissions and select winners in three categories: 1) Poetry 2) Story and 3) "My point of view" essay. The competition runs through this term (to mid-December), and the best entries will be published in an anthology in the spring of 2010.
