Free 'Graphic Truths' comic arts course for 16-19 year olds

15 Oct 2009

A new comic arts project called 'Graphic Truths' has been announced. The project is funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and is open to all 16-19 year olds. 'Graphic Truths' will offer budding comic artists the opportunity to learn drawing and technical skills from a professional graphic artist. The course will teach participants how to interview people and tell their stories through graphic reportage, culminating in the opportunity for those who complete the course to make, promote and publish their very own comic magazine.

Those who are interested in attending the course will need to be available from 26 to 30 October from 1030-430pm, and then be able to attend evening and weekend sessions in the following weeks. The course should be completed by December, ready for London-wide distribution of the magazine in January. This is a unique opportunity to give young people the chance to work with real professionals and get a chance to experience the different aspects of the world of publishing.

For more information, please download the flyer (pdf) and complete the registration section or contact Truly by email on truly@eastside.org.uk or by phone on 0207 033 2380.
