Statement

I am a qualified class teacher SENCo and Reading Recovery teacher. I worked on the Communication, Language and Literacy Development programme both as a local authority consultant and for the National Strategies. I have been involved in Early Literacy for most of my career and continue in this role to ensure that the teaching and learning of phonics, reading, writing and speaking and listening is the best that it can be for all children in all schools.

Areas of work

Springboard for Children has pioneered a succesful one-to-one mentoring model of tuition in which highly trained volunteers work with qualified tutors alongside children who are struggling to read and write. We offer a range of services to schools and their staff to support this work.

Services

Teacher and TA Training in: Phonics and Application of phonics into Reading and Writing, Phonological Awareness,SupportingLiteracy Difficulties across the Primary Age Range. Literacy Assessment (individual and year groups) Springboard Literacy Centres staffed by tutors and volunteers.
