Statement

My current role focuses on coaching and mentoring to improve teaching and learning. I have experience of coordinating whole school Literacy for the Primary age range and working as Lead Teacher for Wokingham. I teach yr 6 in a Junior School and combine development work here with work in other schools to facilitate mutual learning. I advocate creative approaches to planning, teaching and learning while developing key and basic skills. Using lesson studies or working with colleagues in the style of action research (a ‘children up’ rather than ‘top down’ approach) has the potential for significant impact. If you are reviewing aspects of Literacy including APP, Guided Reading or writing across the curriculum contact me to arrange an INSET and/or follow up lessons in your classrooms, alongside your staff to develop them. I could model particular techniques or team teach with colleagues, ensuring their investment and motivation in the initiatives your school is pursuing to improve Literacy
