Statement

As the sole Scottish trainer for Jolly Phonics I have prepared, presented and led training sessions in Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar for schools across Scotland, collaborating with headteachers to establish specific needs for each school and tailoring input to meet these needs. In this capacity I have spoken at conferences and CPD events to introduce the principles of teaching writing and reading through auditory, visual and kinaesthetic means, creating fun, interactive sessions for management, teachers and support staff and introducing active learning activities for promoting active learning in the classroom in keeping with Curriculum for Excellence. As an Enhanced Literacy Teacher I teach every class in the school and have created a Literacy Programme for pupils from P1-7 to ensure they have a wide range of active learning experiences which will furnish them with a language skillset and allow them to access all aspects of learning across the curriculum.
