PLRSIs your team up for the challenge?

Are you a school teacher, coach or youth worker?  Have you got a group of football loving children who might need a bit of encouragement to read more?



Then why not take the Premier League Reading Stars Challenge!

Every season 20 Premier League footballers become Reading Stars for their club and encourage the nation to have a read of their favourite titles.This year, our 20 footballers are encouraging any group of youngsters in the country to take the PLRS Challenge – a target of reading 100 books as a team as quickly as possible! 

Every participating group receives a FREE PLRS wall chart and 100 stickers to place on the chart each time a book is finished.

Every group that completes the challenge is entered into a quarterly grand prize draw to win top Premier League prizes!To register and claim your FREE PLRS Challenge pack, log onto

SPL Reading StarsSPL Reading Stars launches 16 March

Thanks to funding from Scottish Government, 2009 sees Reading Stars launch north of the border.


SPL Reading StarsSPL Reading StarsAll 12 SPL clubs are supporting the scheme, with 250 adults and 250 children taking part through 25 libraries.
