- The Federation of Children's Book Groups - examples of activities and events, including those held in schools
- Independent Reading Mentor Project, Lambeth, London - Year 9 and 10 students increase their skills through mentoring Year 1 children
- Year 7 transition at Loxford School, London Borough of Redbridge - a summer reading promotion for pupils about to start Year 7 and their parents
- Dads and Lads, Mums and Sons reading club, Reading, Berkshire - students and their parents undertake to read six books, and work together on reviews
- Reading Is Fundamental, UK - an initiative allowing children to choose and keep free books and take part in fun events with their families
- The Romsey School, Hampshire - a 'build your own computer' course that attracted a number of dads (from the Reading Champions pages)
