The Family Reading Campaign (FRC) was a partnership campaign, initiated by the National Literacy Trust and funded by the DCSF. It strove
to ensure that the importance of encouraging reading in the
home was integrated into the planning and activity of all the
key organisations concerned with education, health and parenting,
and beyond. The work of the FRC suggested that the most effective way forward was to focus on achieving a coordinated local approach.
Partners in Literacy has now replaced the FRC with the aim of creating a strategy to support reading in the home by working with local authorities.
