Family Reading Matters is delivered by the
NLT on behalf of the DCSF
Family Reading Matters is a strategy, piloting the difference that a local authority strategic coordinator could make to supporting the literacy of both children and their parents. It is funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families. The strategy has been developed as a result of the Family Reading Campaign which it now replaces.
If successful, it is hoped that this will form the basis of a national strategy to support families in encouraging literacy in the home.
