ManchesterRaising literacy standards through working with parents - Manchester
This conference on home engagement is designed to give anyone working with Key Stage 1 or 2 students a toolkit of practical ways to engage carers in effectively raising literacy levels. Speakers will cover the research and academic underpinning of home engagement and the link between carer engagement and literacy levels, as well as practical ideas for reaching all parents.
Effective home-school engagement has been proven to be an extremely effective tool in improving the literacy levels of students and therefore their life chances; and this is most effective when it is part of a whole school strategy.
Speakers:
Julia Donaldson, author
Janet Goodall, expert on parental engagement in children's learning
Colleagues from schools across the country
