This page is designed to help you get over any obstacles you may encounter as an Early Reading Connects setting. There are several issues which you may experience as practitioners and there are also some problems that parents and carers in your setting might experience. Feel free to pass on our advice to the families you work with.
Practitioners

Families
- If my child cannot talk, why should I be reading with him?
- My child is too young to be looking at books…
- They are more interested in playing and toys than books…
- They are more interested in the television than books…
- I do not have time to attend the events and groups that my child’s setting organises…
- I cannot read or write very well, so how will I be able to teach my child?
- I do not enjoy reading, I think it is boring
