Phil Jarrett

Philip Jarrett is an HMI. He joined Ofsted in 2001 and was appointed National Adviser for English in 2003. He is a qualified teacher and has post-graduate qualifications in both education and English. Prior to joining Ofsted, Phil worked for 15 years in schools and then spent 12 years as an education adviser/ inspector for two different local authorities. With Ofsted, he has inspected secondary and primary schools, ITE providers and local authorities. Phil has written six reports for Ofsted while National Adviser for English including, most recently, the highly acclaimed, Moving English Forward (2012).
