Charlie Higson
After a varied career as the singer in a pop group and a decorator Charlie started writing comedy for television in the late 1980s, creating the characters of Loadsamoney and Stavros with Harry Enfield for Saturday Night Live. Working with his long-term writing partner, Paul Whitehouse, Charlie’s next project was Harry’s own TV series (Harry Enfield’s Television Programme). Charlie and Paul then went on to create and star in The Fast Show (1994-2000).
Following the success of the Fast Show Charlie worked on a number of other TV comedies and dramas, as performer, writer and producer - Shows like The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, Shooting Stars, Randall and Hopkirk Deceased, Swiss Toni and Bellamy’s People. Also with Paul he created the award wining Radio 4 comedy series, Down the Line.
His literary career started in the early 1990s when he wrote four crime novels for adults and in 2005 he launched the hugely popular Young James Bond series books for younger readers. He is currently working on a follow up YA horror/zombie/adventure series, called The Enemy. There are seven books planned for the series, and the fourth title, The Sacrifice was released in September 2012.
