The Diamond Writer judging panel
Choosing the short list…author Gill Lewis and a team of helpers from the National Literacy Trust
Every single entry received will be carefully read and considered by a panel that includes writers, school professionals and other National Literacy Trust colleagues. This panel will compile a long list of entries that will then be shortlisted by Gill Lewis, author of the fantastic Sky Hawk.
Choosing the winner…A dream team of pupils from Hazen White-St. Francis School from New Brunswick, Canada
The top entries as selected by Gill and her helpers will be reviewed by Keely, Matthew, Jessica, Baily, Alana and Alyssa, pupils aged between 11 and 13 from Hazen White-St. Francis School in New Brunswick, Canada. These pupils will have the difficult task of choosing a winner of the whole competition.
The school is really excited to be involved and can’t wait to get stuck in.
“We are simply THRILLED to be part of this and are honored that it is being extended to us.” Jennifer Carhart, Principal
“Being selected to be judges is a privilege and we can’t wait to read all of the entries!” Pupils
The school was the perfect choice for our judging panel for the Big Diamond Jubilee Read Diamond Writer competition: it is being visited by Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall on 21 May as part of their Diamond Jubilee Commonwealth tour.
