Notice to Reading Connects members
12 Jan 2011
From March 2011 Reading Connects will no longer be funded by Department for Education (DfE). We’d like to thank the DfE for making Reading Connects possible and for all their support to date. You’ll still be able to access all our existing online resources, ideas and case studies, and with central funding coming to an end we looking forward to providing you with a new offer to help you transform literacy in your school. Click here to find out more.
Where will I find all the information I currently access from the Reading Connects web pages?
From March, all of our existing online practical ideas, case studies and resources, including the Reading Connects toolkits, will be available via our schools and teaching sector page. This page will include a new and improved advanced search function to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
Will I still receive a monthly newsletter?
Yes, we’ll send you a new and improved monthly newsletter, which contains specific news and information for schools.
Can I still update my blog?
We will be migrating our blogging facility over to our WikiReadia site in due course, where you will be able to continue to keep the world updated on literacy related activities at your school. However, there may be a short period during this changeover where the blogging facility will be suspended.
Will I need a login?
All of our Reading Connects members will automatically become members of the National Literacy Trust website, and from 1 March you’ll be able to use your Reading Connects login details to log in to this website.
As a member of this website you will also be able to access free schools competitions and challenges for your students and web content tailored to your personal interests.
We are working hard to ensure that this transition is smooth and hassle-free for all our members. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email us.
