Young carers services to run National Young Readers’ Programme
19 Nov 2010
The National Young Readers’ Programme, active in schools and libraries for 15 years, will be run by five young carers services from January. Applications closed on Monday 15th November, and we received a huge amount of interest from all over the UK. The five successful services were:
- West Lancashire Young Carers
- PRT West Glasgow Carers Centre
- Westbank Young Carers
- Hammersmith and Fulham Young Carers Service
- Surrey Young Carers
Thank you to all the services who sent in applications – we were thrilled by how much interest there has been, and we are hoping to develop more opportunities for young carers services in the future.
Pilot projects will run from January – March 2011, and we hope to share findings on literacytrust.org.uk in the weeks after they finish.
