The National Literacy Trust (NLT) has had a feature published in Local Government First magazine, discussing the role literacy can play in improving life chances and cutting costs. It points to the NLT’s work with a number of local authorities to champion literacy and smarter, joined up ways of thinking across services to target those who need the most support. It also calls on local government leaders to advocate this way of working, inviting them to the upcoming Literacy: Leaders in Local Government event on 1 December 2010 at the National Institute of Directors.
