Choose six reads and challenge yourself to get Reading Ahead

Manchester Reading Ahead invites you to pick six things to read - then record, rate and review them in a special diary to get a certificate.

Developed by The Reading Agency, the programme is part of the Read Manchester campaign from Manchester City Council and the National Literacy Trust. Thousands of people across the UK have already taken part in Reading Ahead, rediscovering a love of reading.

You can choose to read:

  • Books (or e-books)
  • Newspapers or magazines
  • Comics and graphic novels
  • Poems
  • Plays
  • Websites

You could also choose six children’s books and enjoy them with your children or grandchildren. Reading is a great way to spend time together as a family.

"This has given me the motivation to get back into reading again." - Employee, Manchester City Council
