Who we help

Starbucks five year partnership

6 Jan 2009

'Reading Communities' - Bringing Starbucks partners and customers together with schools and libraries through a love of reading.

Starbucks and the National Literacy Trust have been working together since 2001, dedicating funds and partner (employee) time to support children and their families.

In 2008 we were delighted that Starbucks committed to a new five year partnership with us. This partnership will help over 23,000 young people to transform their lives through literacy. Starbucks will be providing funding and partner time to support our literacy projects, working in communities across the UK. In 2009 Starbucks' customers and partners raised over £13,000 and we look forward to working with them to develop this side of the partnership for 2010.

We are proud of our partnership with the NLT. We’re developing and supporting unique community literacy projects that are making a real difference. Our partners have the opportunity to volunteer and fundraise making the relationship a part of our whole business. Cathy Hestletine - Starbucks
