Even today, one person in six in the UK cannot read, write or communicate as well as they need. We are on a mission to change this. We believe that no-one should be without the basic skills they need to thrive.

Poor literacy means:

• not succeeding at school
• being less likely to be happy and healthy
• having limited opportunities in the workplace and throughout life
• being less likely to have a home fit to live in

This year we need to raise £1 million to transform the opportunities of children, families and individuals. With your help we can support people from disadvantaged communities across the UK to develop the skills they need. By supporting our campaign for better literacy you can help us to ensure the Government prioritises literacy.

Your money enables us to support children and adults in disadvantaged communities – giving many children books of their own for the first time. Making a regular donation gives us a reliable source of income. Alternatively you can make a one-off donation now.
