Swap a Book

Swap a Book posterSwap a Book is an ideal way of getting your audience talking about and celebrating the role of books and reading. It is a flexible concept - it could involve a simple, low-key swap involving a few friends, or a high profile creative event, involving a whole school, college or company. You could widen the swap to include materials such as newspapers, magazines and comics - this will enable those who aren't confident readers, or those who may have reading interests beyond books, to get involved.

Initially, Swap a Book was a National Reading Campaign promotion focused around International Literacy Day in September. Downloadable materials are still available for year-round activity.
