Carl is a promising young wicket-keeper who has
become a regular choice behind the stumps for Somerset
in all forms of cricket. First played for England
at Under 13 level and progressed through the ranks
up to Under 19 level. Also represented Cornwall in
Minor Counties cricket at the age of 16 and featured
in the NatWest Trophy in 1999. Made his National League
debut for Somerset in 2003. He was given a two-year
contract at the end of the 2004 season and further
rewarded with a one-year extension after helping Somerset
lift the Twenty20 Cup in 2005.

It relaxes me. The ability escape to a different
world or time.
