CRICKET CHAMPIONS 2006

Andrew White
White is a useful lower order batsman, who likes to score quickly. He has played 12 ICC Trophy matches for Ireland, since 2001, and was a member of the team which famously beat Surrey in the C&G Trophy in 2004. He has a top first class score of 152, and is a useful fielder. He played two first class games for Northamptonshire in 2005, but is yet to make his mark for the county. Andrew also plays cricket for his country of birth; Ireland and is an avid football fan.

What is it about reading about reading that you find so enjoyable?
It's relaxing - you can switch off from daily routines. Also the way in which different authors approach writing in different ways.

Why do you think reading is important?
It can improve vocabulary. You can form more knowledgeable opinions on certain ideas and it allows you to relax.

What are your top five reads of all time?
1. Lance Armstrong's autobiography
2. Martin Johnston's autobiography
3. A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens
4. The Chronicles of Narnia - C S Lewis
5. The Beano!

What inspired you to read?
Some of the books I read during school were quite entertaining and since then I have continued to read a bit in my spare time. Probably not as often as I should though.
