The Jim & Jack 1 in 6 run blog
National Literacy Trust employees Jack Sallabank and Jim Sells have decided to run 160 miles, in October, to raise funds for the National Literacy Trust. Each week we will be writing a blog to let people know how our training, fundraising and organisation of the run, is going. There might even be some video footage at some point too! This is our second blog.

Jack got married at the weekend, so a big congratulations to him and his wife. This means it’s up to me to hold the fort at this end while he enjoys his honeymoon!
The running week has started as a mixed bag as I’m still nursing a “bruised foot bone” and some strained muscles and tendons in my left ankle. This means that I have had to change my training schedule to not include running; instead you’ll find me most mornings swimming in Brixton. The plan is to start pounding the streets and treadmills of South London again from 4 July, which is when Jack is back, so training will start for both of us in earnest.
What has been great, but tricky, fun has been to start pinning down the schools and venues for our runs. We had a brilliant, enthusiastic, response, so thank you to all of you who offered to host us. We’ll be letting you know in the next couple of weeks. It could be you…!
Back to the pool, sit-ups, press-ups… You will let me know when I get boring won’t you? :)
