Tom Palmer's World Cup journey 2
Posted by Tom Palmer
I had a great email from Sally, the librarian at Beauchamps High School, saying what they are up to this month. It’s really inspiring:
"Here at Beauchamps the Library is becoming "World Cup Update Central" for the duration of the tournament. Students can come into the LRC from 8.15 each morning and Tom's new posting will be read to them at 8.30. They can also read a hard copy which will be printed and filed each day. Students will be producing the illustrations for each chapter which will be added to the file to create our own unique take on the story.
"There will be games, puzzles and activities with lots of prizes and we've got a huge display of Football books, magazines and newspaper articles, updated daily to reflect what's going on in Africa.
"We have set up an England team board with a section for each of the players in the squad, Students will be encouraged to add pictures and information about each player and their performance in the games as the tournament progresses.
"They will also be linking into the excitement by producing newspaper type reports on games as they happen.
"Should be really busy, but thanks to Tom we're totally inspired (and I really don't like football at all)."
If any other schools are up to other things, please let us know, so we can all share the ideas.
