Julie Gibbings

Schools Manager

I develop and manage our membership network for school and literacy professionals. With the team, I research outstanding and innovative literacy practice and support network members to discover and try these new approaches in the classroom, library and across the whole school. I also manage Transforming Writing, an action research project which is trialling how to effectively embed formative assessment into the teaching of writing.

I was previously a secondary school teacher, and have worked on a wide range of projects for schools and alternative education. For me, literacy is absolutely vital to enable people to participate fully in society.
