BGC charity day raises money for NLT on September 11th

BGC Partners, the international voice and electronic brokerage coImage from BGC Charity Daympany, chose the NLT as a charity partner to benefit from their annual charity day on September 11th. All the commission from the day's trading activity are donated to nominated charities, and the NLT received a donation of £12,000.

Twelve charities, a host of celebrities and some lucky children from our projects attended a fun-filled day at Canary Wharf. They enjoyed playing sport with famous rugby and snooker players, and read stories with ITV sports presenter Robbie Earle and boxer Amir Khan.

Image from BGC Charity DayWe are very grateful to Robbie Earle for attending on our behalf, and also to our other celebrity supporters which included dance hall artist Mr Midas, Richie Rich and author Ken Follett.

Our thanks go to Chris Cowdry, author and former cricketer, for nominating us, and to BGC for choosing the NLT to take part. We would also like to thank the Premier League, the Football Foundation, Walker Books, Penguin Books and Postman Pat for donating items for the children to take away in their goody bags as a souvenir from the day.
