Frank Lampard OBE

Frank LampardFootballer, father and author of the Frankie’s Magic Football series, Frank Lampard became an ambassador for the National Literacy Trust in 2015.

Frank is a long-standing supporter of our football and literacy work. He is Manchester City’s ‘Reading Star’ in our Premier League Reading Stars programme and officially launched the scheme at Urmston Junior School in Manchester on World Book Day. He previously represented Chelsea as their Reading Star in 2014, when he joined children’s author and fellow ambassador Cressida Cowell to officially launch the scheme at Chelsea FC.

“Reading should be a pleasure no matter what age you are, and Premier League Reading Stars is a proven way of getting children to enjoy books.  It’s very easy for young people to get distracted by computer games and television but the importance of getting children to enjoy reading was the inspiration behind my own books. Whether you’re reading with your kids or just enjoying a good book on your own it’s a wonderful experience and one of life’s great pleasures.”
