Cressida Cowell

Cressida Cowell. Photo: Sam JonesAuthor and illustrator Cressida Cowell is best known for her How to Train Your Dragon series of children’s books, now a major DreamWorks Animation feature film series.

Cressida has been a champion of the National Literacy Trust work since 2005. She has supported all areas of our work, visiting numerous projects, attending Parliamentary Receptions and giving countless media interviews on our behalf.

She is a regular guest author at our annual gala dinner and has contributed unique prizes for auction. In 2013 she sat on a panel of judges to find the UK’s top 10 Literacy Heroes, who were honoured at a reception hosted by our Patron HRH The Duchess of Cornwall

In 2014 she designed the striking How to Train Your Dragon BookBench which was displayed on the streets of London as part of our Books about Town project.
