Anthony Horowitz has written over 40 books including the bestselling teen spy series Alex Rider, and the Sherlock Holmes novels, The House of Silk and Moriarty. Most recently he was commissioned by the Ian Fleming Estate to write the James Bond novel Trigger Mortis, which was published to great acclaim in autumn 2015. In 2014 Anthony was awarded an OBE for his services to literature.

Anthony is a valued and long-term supporter of our work. In 2011 he delivered the Sir Simon Hornby Memorial Lecture, Literacy: State of the Nation. With his reputation for engaging boys, especially reluctant readers, Anthony made a brilliant expert witness at the Boys’ Reading Commission in 2012, which was led by the National Literacy Trust and the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Literacy and looked at issues surrounding boys’ literacy. Anthony is a hugely popular guest author at our annual gala dinner and has generously donated many unique prizes for auction.
