Non-RTG literacy activity

Queens Park Rangers' study support centre was one of the 10 football clubs who received a grant from Reading The Game to run a RIF project in 2002.

QPR initially ran a RIF project with 60 Year 6 children over three terms. A family literacy day, similar to that run with Brentford took place in 2003. In 2002 QPR held a special event for children from Kensington & Chelsea schools who were part of a borough-wide RIF project. Go to K&C day for more details. The club has been successful in raising extra funds for their RIF project, and by July 2004 had provided over 1,600 books to nearly 600 pupils.

QPR has also run a Kick into Reading programme, and Football in the Community club coaches have received training from RTG in literacy activities.
In the last year, through Kick into Reading, QPR has brought the benefits of storytelling to over 500 children from local schools.
