Literacy changes lives

Resources for governors

School governors form the UK's largest volunteer workforce. Although most of the information here is directed at those with a literacy brief, some will be of use to governors generally.

A Literacy Guide for School Governors. Published by the National Literacy Trust in 1998, this publication is now out of print. While many issues have moved on since this was published, it still provides a useful overview of the school governor's role in improving literacy skills. Download the full content as a pdf.
