About the event
This event is recommended for pupils aged 6 to 9 years (Years 2 to 4/P3-P5).
Join us on Thursday 20 June at 10am, where together with pupils from across the UK, your class will meet writers Mark Arrigo and Steven Chatterton and listen to their telling of the story of Adnan: The Boy Who Helped His Mummy Remember. Pupils will also have the opportunity to reflect on the theme of home, all whilst exloring the beautiful illustrations used throughout the book.
After the event: free classroom resources
To help you mark Refugee Week after the event, the National Literacy Trust has created a follow up classroom lesson which supports teachers in further exploring the book and reflecting on Refugee Week's 2024 theme of Our Home.
These resources will be available to download for free on our main Refugee Week page from 20 May.
